Particularly Interested In

Right now I’m particularly interested in two very different genres. The first is history, specifically focused on WW1 and WW2. With the climate of the world right now, mixed with some inspiration from my late grandfather, the combination has provided a fascinating worm-hole of amazing films and documentaries encompassing so many incredible stories which I never would have learned about.

The other genre that has really caught my eye is sci-fi, particularly focused on AI intelligence, and futuristic invention. Also directly related with the way the world is progressing right now, I find it fascinating seeing these fictional concepts now coming true to our everyday lives.

More about Eli Thaler

Eli Thaler graduated from The State University of New York, at Oneonta. As someone who played college baseball, he found his true passion during the pandemic. Under the mentorship of a professional screenwriter, one responsible for both the WAR/DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, as well as the LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD movie, Eli fell in love with reading and writing scripts, whether it be for pilots, features, or anything in-between. After graduating with a degree in Media Studies, with a focus on screenwriting, Eli gave movie reviews for MXDWN, an entertainment news site, where he was able to be engaged with writing, while also having the opportunity to watch unreleased projects. While doing this reviewing, Eli worked as an intern for a voiceover talent agency out in Los Angeles, as well as a Musical talent Agency in New York. He ended up getting a full-time position at the agency. After a year of work he transitioned into more film specific work. He worked as a productions assistant on the set of REEL HARD, an independent feature, while also working closely with the script supervisor to gain experience transitioning scripts to the big screen.

MGMT is a full service, literary, talent, and production company representing A-list talent such as Ethan Hawke, Glenn Close, Aubrey Plaza, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kevin Bacon, Dan Levy, Jeff Bridges, Emmy Rossum, Ellen Burstyn and others. While he reads scripts that are currently being pitched and developed, pretty much everyday, Eli also works with actors who write their own scripts. He’s had the pleasure reading works from Haley Joel Osment, Jing Lusi, June Diane Raphael, and others, all of which he provided feedback and had a conversation with the actor on the vision of the script. There is no genre that hasn't been presented to him, and he currently writes his own pilots and features as well. He looks forward to working with you!
