ALEX BLUMBERG is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, screenwriter, and podcast producer. He’s written narration for Helen Mirren and Meryl Streep, optioned an original screenplay, and produced a narrative podcast adapted from his TV pilot "Back Fires."
“Back Fires” was the 2022 Grand Prize Winner in Creative Screenwriting’s Unique Voices contest and was a Top-3 Finalist in Final Draft Big Break.
Alex’s Soviet-era sci-fi drama "Kosmos" won the Sci-Fi category at the 2023 CineStory TV Fellowship, and is currently under option. Alex's historical drama "Sister" won "Best TV Pilot" at the 2022 Sedona International Film Festival.
Before moving to Los Angeles in 2017, Alex was based in Prague and worked as a video journalist for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, which reports the news in 23 countries where a free press is banned by the government or not fully established.
