BIO
Born in Canada, but growing up in Singapore attending an American school, BRAD CROWE has no idea where he’s from, and wouldn’t have it any other way. His resilience, ingrained from his WWII work camp-surviving grandparents, has seen him be hit by lightning, nearly drown whitewater rafting, and have a tumor rupture in his GI tract to remain an optimist able to find humor in any situation. CAT YOUELL, on the other hand, was born in South Carolina but moved to Orlando, Fl after Hurricane Hugo made her family’s house beachfront property. An only child, homeschooled, in a super religious household (her dad quit his medical practice to go to seminary…NBD) Cat escaped her solitude by gluing herself to TCM and secretly writing her own plays. After getting their MFAs at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, Brad and Cat eloped in Vegas and formed their company Minx Pictures together. Fully embracing their love of comedies, unconventional families, and outsiders, they’ve placed in every major writing contest, produced & directed several award-winning short films, as well as participated in the Black List’s Feature Lab.
