BIO
MCNANDEZ is a queer, married writing team living in Pasadena, California. They have been semifinalists for the Writers on the Verge and Warner Brothers Writers Workshop fellowships and produced two sold-out evenings of one-act plays at the Complex Theatre in Hollywood. McNandez were recent Diversity Initiative fellows at Roadmap Writers, semi-finalists in the 2022/2023 Roadmap Writers Top Tier Competition, and have studied television writing at Script Anatomy.
With one being a city kid and the other a country kid, they both struggled to find their place in the wider world. Once the stars aligned and finally brought them together, they began writing, weaving their disparate backgrounds and complementary sensibilities to tell familiar but fresh stories through the lens of characters never seen on television. They put those characters to work in half-hour dramedies and hour-long dark comedies with dramatic and surreal elements about women who break out of norms and expectations and the chosen family joining them in the fight.
