JARED JANUSCHK (30s; introspective), grew up in Colorado split between two households; a schizophrenic father in one, and a nutritionist mother in the other. Reading and a secret boyfriend were the sad boy’s solace, until he went straight as a wrestler—earning a plaque on his High School’s wall for having the best record of the year. On the weekends, he snuck down to Denver and played Texas Hold’em at an illegal speak-easy. Only when attending CalArts for a BFA in Performance, did Jared discover Tai Chi, and slow his pulse—while living a poly-amourous life. Jared broke into writing and directing commercials for brands such as Coca Cola, Chevrolet, and Playstation. But storytelling changed from an escape to a catharsis when he made his Dances with Films Grand Jury Award Winning first feature, SHOOTING IN VAIN (a psychological drama Distributed by Gravitas via Amazon Prime). And, in mentoring at an outpatient mental health facility, Jared discovered his true voice writing tender thriller/horrors about gentle heroes searching for closure in a brutal world. His award winning horror short film, THEY SEE YOU, played Overlook FF, Brooklyn Horror, Telluride Horror Show and was distributed by ALTER and BLOODYDISGUSTING TV. As a resident of West Los Angeles, Jared refines his Film and TV scripts through Roadmap Writers and indulges in ube ice cream with a waffle fish on top
