Hong Kong-based British writer/director JOANNA BOWERS is an impact filmmaker, focused on telling cross-cultural, international stories, focusing on unlikely minority heroines on journeys to achieve the extraordinary.
Her writing has recently reached the quarter-finals of The Writers List US and Cinestory Foundation and the semi-finals of The Athena List.
Joanna shoots award-winning TV commercials throughout Asia for brands including Cathay Pacific and The North Face.
Her feature documentary debut THE HELPER had a sold out 3 month theatrical release in cinemas in Asia, and her follow up REFASHIONED premiered at DocDMZ and had theatrical runs in Hong Kong and Japan. Both are available on iTunes & AmazonPrime.
