BIO

KEVIN M. JONES started out as a kid with a keen interest in cameras, how they worked, various film development processes, how many times he could flash his big brothers in the eyes before he was pummeled, etc. Using his dad’s Super-8, Kevin and his friends would make music videos which usually involved explosions and some dramatic element on the theme of David vs. Goliath. As a young man, Kevin had the opportunity to live in Paris from 1990-92 and learned still photography under a Lebanese professional who was kind enough to let him tag along and schlep his equipment all over France. Sometimes they would shoot Paris by night, then come back to the darkroom at 2 a.m. and develop all that film. When they finally walked out to breathe some fresh air, it was 10:00 in the morning. Those were incredible days. When Kevin got back to the States, he stayed with photography but got a job as a Production Assistant on the set of commercials, movies, and anything he could do. Shortly thereafter, Kevin began to write in earnest. Documentaries, shorts, commercials, full-length feature treatments, and manuscripts. Kevin is a firm believer in continuing one’s education throughout life, regardless of age or expertise. He has continued his studies both here and abroad, attending master-level courses in scriptwriting, digital filmmaking, editing, and media marketing. “Old Oak”, (a story of love, sacrifice, and judgment—set in the 1950s at the final meal of a Death Row inmate and told from the perspective of a ten-year-old girl) was filmed in Mississippi and has competed in multiple International Film Festivals, including Hollywood Shorts, Cannes International, Los Angeles, Oxford, Sun&Sand, CrossRoads, and others. Pod 6 is a writing assignment Kevin created for a "high concept" project during a master's class. Kevin has also written multiple other screenplays including my latest, "Woodwork", which explores sci-fi thriller theme of alien-human integration. Kevin welcomes the opportunity to collaborate.
