MICHAEL PAUL WILLIAMS, an opinion columnist for the Richmond Times-Dispatch, the daily newspaper of his native Richmond, Virginia, was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for commentary in 2021. He's a recipient of a Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University and the 2021 recipient of the Pell Center Prize for Story in the Public Square, among other honors. He's a graduate of Virginia Union University and Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. He's married to Robin Farmer, the best writer in their household.
