BIO
ROY HSU is a Seattle-based screenwriter, producer, and actor. He grew up in Kansas and Pennsylvania as a gay kid in a Chinese Southern Baptist family—an artist in a family of scientists. After graduating from the Tyler School of Art, he held senior executive positions in advertising, having founded the digital department for what is now one of the largest healthcare ad agencies in New York. He left that world and is currently a financial advisor and angel investor, mentoring and funding startups in the venture capital world, guest lecturing at universities, and currently is an advisor to two startups–all despite having undiagnosed dyslexia and only discovering it a few years ago. Roy draws from his intersectional experiences in the Asian, LGBT, and disability communities to write socially conscious stories. His accolades include Cinequest's top 50, Semi-Finalist in the Austin Film Festival, and acceptance into The Stowe Story Labs for 2023. He is currently producing three podcasts with Never Ever Productions, one also as a writer, and has joined Enderby Entertainment as a executive producer for an upcoming feature for Lionsgate distribution.
