BIO
SAM WOODS is most often a comedy writer whose humor is frequently published on McSweeney's Internet Tendency. In the screenwriting realm, he writes genre-bending TV comedies about misunderstood weirdos trying to fit into worlds not designed for them with his writing partner (and wife), Jenny Wise. In the world of fiction, Sam writes sci-fi/fantasy stories about proud heroes who must reckon with their messy pasts and family baggage in order to save the world (and themselves). Sam studied improv and sketch comedy at The Second City and iO Chicago and performed on almost every stage in town. He now resides in Los Angeles where he and his partner pursue staffing opportunities, writing assignments, and the ever elusive six-pack. Sam is represented by the TV literary department of the Gersh Agency with his wife as a screenwriting team.
