BIO
No. He is not related to Dolph. But he is from Sweden. And he used to be a chef…A Swedish chef…
STEVEN LUNDGREN is an award-winning Writer/Director living in Los Angeles, with over two decades in the film industry, with an MFA in Literature, a BFA in Film Studies, an Associate Degree in Film Production from Sweden, and finally an MFA in Film Production from Chapman University (after receiving a grant of $22,000 from the Sweden-America Foundation). His most recent film as Writer/Director -"Fog of War" has screened in two dozen festivals, garnering an impressive list of awards (Best Horror Short at Indie Shorts and Fantasm’s Shock Reel Festival, Best Director at Venice Shorts etc.). Growing up in a poor home in a dour working-class town in Northern Sweden with ¾ of his family suffering from alcoholism, pushed Steven to escape into his own worlds, first through the written word and later through the moving image. He gravitates to tell stories that explore the human condition, offering social commentary - in particular, intellectual Sci-Fi/Horror/Thrillers with flawed protagonists who cannot get out their own way. His screenplays carry provoking, multi-layered themes, with mythological and literary symbolism. Several of his scripts have placed in Nicholl, ScreenCraft, Shore Scripts and others. He is currently enrolled in Roadmap Writers Career Writing Program. Among his many experiences in the industry, working in casting on the blockbuster “ALI” and doing a brief stint as Writers Assistant for J.J. Abrams are some of the highlights. When he’s not juggling screenplays or developing his next directorial venture, Steven loves to overwhelm his friends and family with daring 4-course dinners that tell culinary stories.
