BIO
Slim Man, born TIMOTEO CAMPONESCHI on the island of Capri, is a celebrated singer/songwriter, performing for a range of humanity from a 95-year-old’s birthday party in Palm Springs, to the Vatican for Pope John Paul II.
He discovered music at an early age, learning to play trumpet, piano, and guitar before studying at the Peabody Institute of Music in Baltimore, MD. Then he was signed as a 20-year-old songwriter to Motown Records, where his songs were recorded by the Temptations, among others. He later recorded a CD on the Motown label, when he developed his signature style–a unique blend of jazz, soul, and pop.
His bands have released 14 CD’s and have performed alongside The Tubes, The B-52s, Squeeze, Split Enz, Johnny Winter, and many others. In the late 1990s, Slim Man started another band, Bona Fide, an instrumental group whose combination of funk and jazz brought forth the Number One single “X Ray Hip”. Bona Fide also received the Best New Artist Award at the Smooth Jazz Awards, and Slim Man was named Best Jazz Vocalist at the Coachella Music Awards in 2016 and 2017. This is his second screenplay.
