So, you’ve been writing screenplays for a while now, and you’re pretty comfortable with it. You know all the ins and outs, the rises and falls, and both the good and the bad. Everything’s great, until you realize: you haven’t had a real challenge that’s made you flex your writing muscles in a while. Well, look no further, because Roadmap Writers is thrilled to invite you to try your hand at playwriting!
Why playwriting? Besides being another creative way to get your work out there, you’ll have to strip your writing down to just the raw elements and really dive into your characters. After all, all a play needs is an actor and an audience.
You will be walked through fleshing out your concept, developing the plot, layering your characters and writing your full one-act play! This class is filled with weekly assignments, assigned reading, and interactive writing workshops.
This Four-Week Class Will Cover:
- Crafting compelling and engaging dialogue
- Creating strong scene structure
- The six elements of dramatic writing and how to put them to work for your script
- How to build dramatic tension
- Feedback on your one-act play
