ALEXA SUNBY is a TV and film executive with over a decade of experience. She most recently served as Director of Development at Artists for Artists, a 360-production company co-founded by Kenan Thompson and John Ryan Jr. In her role at AFA, she developed and packaged projects from the ground up across film, TV, unscripted, animation, and kids programming, setting up 10 projects across studios like Universal Television, Netflix Feature Animation, and Sony/Tristar in the span of 18 months.
Alexa brings to the table a diversity of experience having worked in both broadcast and cable/streaming at studios, buyers, and production companies. This affords her a holistic understanding of the development process, bringing inside knowledge of how to position and sell a project at every stage. Previously, she was a creative executive at the award-winning management and production company Anonymous Content after a four-year stint at NBCUniversal at Universal Content Productions (UCP), where she shadowed the Peacock sitcom PUNKY BREWSTER, and USA/Syfy. She also has experience working at CBS Entertainment / CBS Studios in Current Programming and ABC Entertainment in Marketing.
She’s passionate about helping writers and creators find the best version of their project and understanding how to position themselves and their work in the marketplace. She’s an avid consumer of comedy, high-concept dramas and genre shows, and of course trashy reality TV. Originally from Wisconsin, Alexa first fell in love with entertainment while working at a local movie theater starting at age 14.
