Hari Ziyad (he/they) is a Cleveland, OH-born death doula, the bestselling author of the memoir Black Boy Out of Time, and the creator and former Editor-in-Chief of the online publication RaceBaitr. Their perspective is expanded by growing up as a Black and queer child in a Hindu and Muslim household, and their writing has been featured in Vanity Fair, The Guardian, Huffington Post, and in peer-reviewed academic journals, among other publications. They are a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, and their credits include NEIGHBORHOOD (CBS, staff writer) and DAVID MAKES MAN (OWN, script consultant). They are a Rideback Rise Circle Member, a Screencraft Feature Competition quarterfinalist, a Filmmatic Drama Screenplay Awards quarterfinalist, and they are currently in development on a thirty minute horror-satire and a low budget dramedy feature.
