More about
Nkechi --
Nkechi is a queer AfroLatina writer and performer born and raised in Los Angeles, California. After graduating from Bryn Mawr College with a Bachelor's in English Literature, Nkechi moved back to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of creating thoughtful, impactful, and funny television. Nkechi is a writer whose work explores ideas of identity, access, family, and diaspora while keeping humor at the forefront. Her special talents include complex character monologues, intricate arguments, and queer storylines AFTER coming out.
Before breaking into the television industry, Nkechi worked in museum curation and wrote story for console and mobile games. She got her start as the Showrunner's Assistant on Season 3 of POWER BOOK II: GHOST, and saw development from start to finish at Courtney A. Kemp's production company, End of Episode. Nkechi was most recently a Staff Writer on one of Kemp's new projects at Netflix. When she isn't in the room, you can find Nkechi caring for her many plants, restoring antique furniture, or at The Upright Citizens Brigade Los Angeles where she received the 2019 Outstanding Woman in Comedy Award.
