Particularly Interested In

While I have experience developing scripts across all genres, I have a passion for comedy! As a feature comedy writer, I’m interested in all styles and sub-genres and currently have two romantic comedies and a horror comedy in development.

Some of my favorite films are BRIDESMAIDS, SHAWN OF THE DEAD, FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, THE BIG SICK, 500 DAYS OF SUMMER, SIDEWAYS, and anything Paul Thomas Anderson.

In terms of television, I love FLEABAG, 30 ROCK, SUCCESSION, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, VEEP, CATASTROPHE, FREAKS AND GEEKS, and I was practically raised by THE SIMPSONS.

More about Rachel Wheelock

Rachel Wheelock is an experienced feature screenwriter with several projects set up at major production companies including Dan Lin's Rideback (THE LEGO MOVIE, IT, SHERLOCK HOLMES, the upcoming, live-action LILO & STITCH) and The Montecito Picture Company (GHOSTBUSTERS, OLD SCHOOL, UP IN THE AIR, I LOVE YOU MAN, NO STRINGS ATTACHED). She is best known for her work in the comedy space, with two romantic comedies and a horror comedy currently in development.

After graduating from UCLA, Rachel started her career in the film and television development at The Montecito Picture Company / Ghost Corps under legendary director and founder Ivan Reitman, Dan Aykroyd, and Tom Pollock. Under their creative guidance, she refined a keen eye for narrative and story building across a wide range of genres and formats.

Originally from Orange County, Rachel grew up watching sitcoms instead of learning how to surf. Her passion for comedy and inability to surf remain.
