More about Ryan Saul

Ryan is currently the Head of Motion Picture Literary at the Cartel, where he represents writers and directors in both motion pictures and series formats.

Prior to joining the Cartel, Ryan was an agent for over 20 years, running APA's Motion Picture literary division before joining Paradigm. Over the years he has garnered the reputation of turning short film directors into major motion picture directors. Starting the careers of such talents as Wes Ball (MAZE RUNNER, PLANET OF THE APES sequel), Tim Reckart (THE STAR, Paul McCarthey's HIGH IN THE CLOUDS), and Josh Trank (CHRONICLE, FANTASTIC FOUR).

On the writer side, he has found a niche in feature animation with clients working on such projects as CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, KLAUS, and FERDINAND THE BULL, to name a few. As a matter of fact, one of his first deals brought the films BROTHER BEAR and CHICKEN LITTLE to life. Most recently he was instrumental in putting together the SONIC franchise with writers Pat Casey & Josh Miller.

In his current role, Ryan has also turned to producing, working with Viola Davis' Juvee Pictures on the upcoming TRUTHSAYERS, as well as recently optioning the catalogue of best selling author Brenda Jackson.

He is a graduate of Bradley University, where he studied Theatre and European History, and has an MFA in Film Production from Florida State University (where he still continues to teach.

Random fact - he does a mean Prince karaoke, and once was an award-winning theatre director.
