DENISE MEYERS is the inaugural recipient of a 2019 Sloan Foundation Development Grant in partnership with the Athena Film Festival and Barnard College for her screenplay, LUCKY 13, about the Women’s Air Force Service Pilots in World War Two. The script also received a grant from Stowe Story Labs and placed in the Nicholl Top 100. Lucky 13 is currently under option.
An Athena List winner and the winner of the ISA Fast Track Fellowship in 2021, Meyers was one of nine screenwriters invited to participate in the New York Stage and Filmmakers Workshop at the Powerhouse Theater at Vassar College in 2017. In 2018, she was also named one of the Top 25 Screenwriters to Watch by the International Screenwriters Association.
A Finalist for the Screencraft Screenwriting Fellowship, The Writers Lab, The Creative Screenwriting Awards, and Table Read My Screenplay (Park City), Meyers is the creator of the fiction podcast, LETTERS FROM HOME, which won the first annual Scriptapalooza Fiction Podcast Competition.
Her short film, THE DARK OF NIGHT, directed by Robin Wright and starring Leslie Bibb and Sam Rockwell had its red-carpet world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017.
