KATHRYN ORWIG is a neurodiverse author, poet, and screenwriter from Northern Michigan. Growing up financially struggling in a small midwestern town, Kathryn writes primarily adventure dramas where the characters work together to survive impossible odds. Recently, she was selected as one of the Top 25 Writers to Watch in 2024 by the International Screenwriters Association and one of the Top 10 Emerging Writers to Watch in 2024 by the Golden Script Competition. Kathryn has won or placed highly in multiple screenwriting competitions (Next 100 Scripts Nicholl’s, Page Awards, Austin Film Festival, Roadmap’s Shorts Grand Prize Winner, and Roadmap’s Diversity July 2021 Winner, etc.), acted as a final-round judge at the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, and wrote 22 animation TV Web Series episodes for a start-up media company.
