A Chicago native, KIKO M. PEGGS, also known as Kikomo, had her introduction into the
Arts through creative writing at age 7. Growing up during the era of Spike’d cinema
classics, she grew an affinity for bold visuals and pure storytelling. The power of cinema
led her to pursue an education in filmmaking where she began developing short films in
addition to applying film techniques. Working with a mission rooted in elevating Black
culture, she uses portraiture as a tool for empowering Black communities.
