MAHONRI STWART is a Finalist in Final Draft's Big Break Screenwriting Competition and a two-time ScreenCraft Finalist for the Feature and True Story and Public Domain Competitions, all for WRIGHTSBOROUGH, 2023. Mahonri has also has placed as a semi-finalist, quarterfinalist, and an honorable mention in Roadmap Writers' Jumpstart Competition, WeScreenplay, the Big Apple Film Festival, as well as ScreenCraft's TV Pilot, Animation, and Action and Adventure screenplay competitions. Mahonri received his MFA in Dramatic Writing (Screenwriting and Playwriting) and has been praised for his vivid dialogue, compelling characters, exciting plots, imaginative worldbuilding, and meaningful themes. Mahonri has two screenplays currently optioned (JIMMY STEWART GOES TO HOLLYWOOD and EMPEROR WOLF) with Motion Foundry Studios and Park City Pictures. Mahonri has been featured on Coverfly's Red List for both WRIGHTSBOROUGH (Historical, top 1% Overall and genre/format), PROSPERO'S ISLAND (Fantasy and Fantasy TV, Top 8% Overall), and EXILES (Fantasy Feature, Top 9% Overall). WRIGHTSBOROUGH was also included in Coverfly's Top 20 Historical/Historical Features of the Year, Top 50 Feature Projects, and Top 100 Overall. Mahonri is a published and produced playwright. Two dozen of his plays have been produced in both Europe and the United States. He has received numerous awards for his dramatic work, including the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival’s National Playwriting Award (Second Place) and their National Selection Team Fellowship for his debut play FAREWELL TO EDEN.
