Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, VICTOR RIDAURA is a two-time Slamdance award-winning writer, a Ryan Murphy HALF directing fellow, a finalist for the Disney TV Directing Program, and a director of brand films and commercials whose short narrative work has screened at Academy Award- and BAFTA-qualifying festivals worldwide. His short film, THE UGLIEST, was nominated in 2022’s NFMLA for Best New Media & Experimental Short. His psychological horror feature script KINGMAKER was a Semifinalist in Filmmatic Horror Screenplay Awards Season 6, a Semifinalist in Filmmatic - Inroads Fellowship Season 5, a Second Round selection in ISA’s Fast Track Fellowship 2023, a Quarterfinalist in Final Draft - Big Break 2023, a Quarterfinalist in Screamfest 2022, and a Quarterfinalist in Final Draft - Big Break 2019.
His thriller short script for CÁLMATE, MIJA was a semifinalist for Lena Waithe’s Rising Voices Season 2 and was a Winner in Slamdance Screenplay Competition 2022. His bleak, near-future thriller short script about racism, SUNDOWN COUNTRY, won at the 2019 Slamdance Screenplay Competition. While his IDENTIDAD RAZA short script was a Finalist in HollyShorts Screenwriting Competition 2023, a Top 10 Finalist in the Killer Shorts Horror Short Screenplay Competition S4, a Semifinalist in Cinequest Screenwriting Competition 2022-2023, and a Semifinalist in the Filmmatic Short Screenplay Awards S8. Victor was also a finalist in 2022’s Commercial Director Diversity Program (CDDP) and was selected to take part in their 50/50 Honorable Director Mentorship Program.
