Right now, I’m really drawn to projects that take bold creative swings—stories with rich world-building, a strong point of view, and a unique sense of tone. I gravitate toward writers who blend mystery, tension, or satire with sharp character work and thematic depth. Anything that feels both elevated and unexpected tends to catch my eye.

I’m not drawn to message-driven pieces that hit the audience over the head with the moral. I respond much more to stories that handle their themes with subtlety and trust the viewer to engage with complexity. I’m always looking for nuance over agenda.

More about Alec Durkheimer

With over a decade of experience in television development, Alec Durkheimer has worked across scripted content spanning premium cable to top streaming platforms. He has shepherded projects from pitch to screen, collaborating closely with writers, showrunners, and studios to develop compelling, character-driven stories with cultural impact.

Alec currently works at Osprey Productions, which previously had an overall deal with Sony Pictures Television and now operates independently. While at Osprey, he was involved in the acclaimed HBO Max comedy GORDITA CHRONICLES and the true-crime home renovation series MURDER HOUSE FLIP for Roku. He also has several projects currently in development across both drama and comedy, with a focus on fresh voices, smart structure, and strong commercial appeal.

He earned his degree in Communication and Information Technology from Cornell University.

Alec specializes in helping writers refine their concepts, sharpen their pitches, and understand what executives are really looking for in a series. Whether a writer is crafting a pilot, polishing a logline, or trying to position a project in today’s ever-changing marketplace, he offers actionable feedback from an executive’s POV—and helps get projects closer to a “yes.”

Writers can expect conversations that focus on story, structure, and strategy—with honest, clear notes to make sure their work is truly ready for the room.
