*High Concept Features! Something with a slightly "magical" hook (think PALM SPRINGS or SLIDING DOORS)
*Romantic Comedies & Dramas (ideally with contained locations/ few characters that could be made on a lower budget)
*Supernatural Horror or Sci-Fi (centered around a female protagonist)
*Psychological Thriller with Darker or Erotic Elements (a darker side of romance)
*Holiday Scripts! (a new spin on Christmas IP)
*Procedural Dramas (interesting & unique workplaces, in Film or TV)
*Period Dramas with a Fresh Twist (leaning into the genre mash-up trend)
*Anything magical, character-driven, and with a hopeful and/or redemptive ending!

More about Allison Margaret Reid

Allison Margaret Reid is an accomplished writer-producer based in Los Angeles. Raised in the suburbs of Atlanta by an orthopedic surgeon and an elementary school librarian, Allison jokes that growing up bisexual in a Christian household led to repression that she’s still unpacking… but also gave her a deep understanding of the importance of representation in pop culture. A high school thespian, she discovered her passion for movies at her local Blockbuster Video, which brought her to study film at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.

Allison’s career began with internships at Adult Swim and Focus Features. She rose from Executive Assistant at Universal Pictures to Story Editor for producer Beau Flynn, and then to Director of Development at Scott Free, where she was the on-set Associate Producer for the film JUNGLELAND (TIFF 2019). Allison further honed her craft by earning an MFA in Writing for Film & TV from Emerson College, where she was named Outstanding Student of the Year. In 2021, she became Script Coordinator for an AMC Networks TV drama. Today, she teaches a seminar on “Producing for Screenwriters” to Emerson College MFA students.

As a screenwriter, Allison’s scripts have received accolades from Austin Film Festival, Ivy Film Festival, and Stowe Story Labs. Her narratives explore the intricacies of relationships by blending elements of romance, magic, and coming-of-age experiences across a wide range of genres. Committed to amplifying diverse stories through development and production, Allison is excited to offer her insights and passion to help guide and inspire screenwriters in bringing their distinctive stories to the screen.

How it Works

Private Month Mentorship

Each month mentorship kicks off with a preliminary 15-min. call to set expectations and lay out strategy for the month. Writer will have email access to the executive plus 4x one-hour consultations with the exec. Exec will read up to 4 scripts in one month (different drafts of the same script or 4 different scripts) and conduct 4x one-hour story notes calls. Calls can also include feedback on your pitch, branding, or career strategy.

If you pay with the deposit/payment plan, your second half will be due the 2nd week of the Mentorship. If you need a different type of payment plan, email dorian@roadmapwriters.com.

**Please note feature screenplays are limited to 120 pages maximum. Please contact terra@roadmapwriters.com for pricing on a Month Mentorship on screenplays exceeding 120 pages.

What To Expect

After registering, you will receive an automatic Order Confirmation email. Then Roadmap's Director of Consultations, Terra Joy, will get your mentor looped in with you! If you do not hear from Terra or the exec within 3 days of registering, feel free to email terra@roadmapwriters.com for an update.

Before starting your Month Mentorship, please ensure you are familiar with our Code of Conduct
