More about Averie Joy Maikalima Omakua Huffine

Averie started her career in television as an NBC Page, learning the network and studio ropes while giving tours and working on THE TONIGHT SHOW. From there, she went to BermanBraun and worked for Head of Television Gene Stein during multiple pilot seasons. After BermanBraun, she worked for renowned producer, Sara Colleton. Under Sara’s deal with Universal Television, Averie worked on two Bryan Fuller projects: MOCKINGBIRD LANE and HANNIBAL, as well as the last season of DEXTER. She also worked for Nicky Weinstock at Invention Films under his Lionsgate deal.

In 2015, she joined Amy Pascal's Pascal Pictures. At PPI, Averie was tasked with creating an entire television department and started with BENEATH A SCARLET SKY – the #1 Most Read and #2 Most Bought Book on Amazon in 2016 – and attached Tom Holland to play the lead. In 2018, she went over to BOOM! Studios, where she ran the television department as VP and set up over 20 projects based on IP. She was instrumental in selling and setting up BOOM!’s first ever television series at Disney+, JUST BEYOND, based on the RL Stine graphic novel of the same name. She also helped develop MECH CADET at Netflix, which is slated for a 2023 debut, and sold JOYRIDE to FX with Sera Gamble & John McNamara attached to showrun and David Reed writing.

After BOOM!, she was hired to run Mandy Moore’s production company: Roll With The Punches. She is currently a producing partner and Head of Development. She is an Executive Producer on TWIN FLAMES at Hulu, based on the Wondery podcast of the same name. Roll With The Punches also won MY MOM HAS NO FRIENDS, an article by Monica Corcoran-Harel, in a six way bidding war. Averie is Native Hawaiian and passionate about telling Kānaka Maoli stories - to that end, she helped start PEAK (Pasifika Entertainment Advancement Komiti) to help uplift Pasifika creators. Additionally, as someone with chronic illness, she is an active member of the Arthritis Foundation and has raised over $30,000 for autoimmune research. She does archery on the weekends.

How it Works

After registering, you will receive instructions on how to submit your material in your order confirmation email. After submitting your material, please allow 3-4 weeks to receive proposed times for scheduling your call with the exec.

Be sure to familiarize yourself with Roadmap's Code of Conduct.

Questions? Email terra@roadmapwriters.com

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your registration for a refund or Roadmap gift card if you have not yet submitted your material for review. However, once your material has been received by Roadmap, your registration cannot be canceled. Having revised material or a desire to retroactively apply a discount or gift card code are not grounds for cancellation, refunds, or gift card credit. Once your material has been submitted, the only acceptable grounds for cancellation and a refund or gift card credit is an unforeseen, ongoing emergency on the part of either the writer or the exec resulting in more than 6 weeks without any scheduling update from the exec via direct contact or Roadmap, or a sudden change in the exec's ongoing availability. In the instance of an irreconcilable scheduling issue, the writer may still receive a written feedback report from the exec. In this case, the writer is not entitled to a refund or gift card credit as the exec has read the submitted material and provided written feedback in lieu of the call.
