Roadmap Writers is proud to present our 4th Annual Black to the Future event: a week-long celebration of inclusion and representation for Black Screenwriters, featuring five days of panels with working Screenwriters and Execs!

Roadmap has consistently held space for Black Screenwriters since our company’s founding in 2016 when we launched our free Coletta Preacely-Garcia Diversity Fellowship, which kicks off again on February 28th. Through our programs and introductions, we are committed to increasing opportunities for writers of color to find a path to success and have helped many writers from this Diversity Fellowship land representation and get staffed.

In its fourth year, Black To The Future is an extension of our commitment to supported and sustained diversity in the world of entertainment. We look forward to finding even more fresh new voices this year!

Summary

Join Roadmap Writers' Director of Competition & Partnerships Tiffany Yarde for an introduction to Black to the Future where she explores the history of the contribution of Black creatives to TV & Film.

Presenter

TIFFANY YARDE is a Caribbean-American screenwriter committed to dispelling the monolithic perception of the Black experience in America. Raised in Brooklyn’s Walt Whitman Public Housing by resourceful Bajan immigrants, she learned resilience as a way of life—an ethos that fuels her storytelling. Tiffany’s work delves into cultural identity, self-acceptance, and the unseen complexities of everyday life, crafting characters who defy stereotypes and uncover hidden truths.

Her credits include the culturally inclusive TV movie Dress for Success (Tubi) and the short film Bon Voyage (Women’s Weekend Film Challenge). As a fellow in the inaugural Creative Corridor Program—a transatlantic initiative by Independent Film Trust and Roadmap Writers—she has developed her craft among global industry talent. Tiffany holds a B.A. in English from Bryn Mawr College and is currently pursuing an MFA in Screenwriting at the David Lynch School of Cinematic Arts.

Tiffany tells the stories no one sees coming—ones that challenge perceptions, celebrate resilience, and resonate long after the credits roll.
