Exec will review the pages provided by the writer before each meeting and meet the writer for 3 x 30-minute meetings via Zoom to assist the writer with developing a new project.
As a writer with an extensive acting/comedy background, I believe in crafting witty/believable dialogue, digging into character development, and focusing in on the internal metaphor of the story. Once we figure out who our characters are and what we want our narrative to really say, our story will spring to life and an arc will naturally begin to unfold!
I'm interested in nearly everything but my favorite genre and strength lies in comedy, particularly comedies that are female-driven, or written by women. Shows such as THE MINDY PROJECT, KILLING EVE, FLEABAG, GLOW, etc.
Caroline Portu graduated from Boston College as a theater and philosophy double major, where she began working as as a professional singer/emcee all around the country (alongside Winner of THE VOICE Jermaine Paul, and THE GREATEST SHOWMAN'S Loren Allred) and as actress in regional and off-Broadway theater, and maintained several Brooklyn residencies for her musical comedy show over a period of two years. Three years ago, she relocated to Los Angeles, where she has worked as a screenwriter for companies such as Reel One Entertainment, Hallmark, and Lifetime. She writes both romantic comedies and thrillers and loves reading scripts/books, writing sketch comedy, and watching movies.
