Daniel Grindlinger is a dynamic instructor with extensive experience writing, developing, and producing in the Entertainment Industry.
He currently has a film, DISEMBODIED MACHINES, co-written with J.H Wyman (THE MEXICAN, FRINGE), at David Goyer’s Phantom Four Production with Brad Anderson (THE MACHINIST) attached to direct. Daniel served as a staff writer for both J.H Wyman’s and J.J. Abrams’ Fox crime series ALMOST HUMAN, and Steven Bochco’s TNT crime series MURDER IN THE FIRST. In 2022, Daniel was selected as a 2022 WGAW TV Writer Access Diversity and Inclusion Project semi-finalist.
Daniel’s career began as a crime reporter, investigative journalist, and fact checker, covering murders, sex crimes, and other illicit activities. He is a graduate of Columbia University's Graduate School for Journalism and NYU Tisch School for the Arts. In 2020, Daniel returned to true crime when he served as the Creator/Development Producer/ Writer for the First Watch true crime show LIVING A NIGHTMARE which aired on Investigation Discovery. He recently wrapped the true crime series CITIZEN DETECTIVE for Sundance TV where he served as a writer/researcher. CITIZEN DETECTIVE will air in 2023. This summer, Daniel created a docu-series for Langley Productions that is currently in development.
Daniel has also developed original television series and feature films for Allison Shearmur (HUNGER GAMES), Shephard/Robin Productions (LONGMIRE), Marc Rosen (SENSE 8), John Will (MATLOCK), and Lionsgate.
Daniel has taught English at William Cullen Bryant High School in Queens, NY, and tutored students for Screenwriting, College Essays, the SAT and the ISEE. On a personal note, Daniel spends much of his time rereading the books of Jim Thompson, watching Korean Crime films and following his beloved Mets.
After registering, you will receive instructions on how to submit your material in your order confirmation email. Please be sure to submit a one-pager of loglines and either 2 scripts (50 pages each), 3 scripts (33 pages each), or 4 scripts (25 pages each). After submitting your material, please allow 3-4 weeks to receive proposed times for scheduling your call with the exec.

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your registration for a refund or Roadmap gift card if you have not yet submitted your material for review. However, once your material has been received by Roadmap, your registration cannot be canceled. Having revised material or a desire to retroactively apply a discount or gift card code are not grounds for cancellation, refunds, or gift card credit. Once your material has been submitted, the only acceptable grounds for cancellation and a refund or gift card credit is an unforeseen, ongoing emergency on the part of either the writer or the exec resulting in more than 6 weeks without any scheduling update from the exec via direct contact or Roadmap, or a sudden change in the exec's ongoing availability. In the instance of an irreconcilable scheduling issue, the writer may still receive a written feedback report from the exec. In this case, the writer is not entitled to a refund or gift card credit as the exec has read the submitted material and provided written feedback in lieu of the call.
