Let’s face it. There are a million different paths to success. That’s true to some degree for most industries, but even more so for Tinseltown. We get it, and so we understand why it’s important to hear from people who have achieved what you want to achieve. Learn what their obstacles were, how they overcame them, and take what you can from those lessons to apply to your own life.
While it is true that there are as many paths to success as there are people, we can all learn something from how someone else did it. That’s why Roadmap is thrilled to have our lovely alumna Kayona Brown back to share his story!
This 90-Minute Webinar Will Cover:
- Getting started in screenwriting
- Building your portfolio
- Networking
- How to take a meeting
- Audience Q&A!
Hailing from our nation’s capital, Kayona Ebony Brown is a multi-hyphenate storyteller who grew up in a home that nurtured her eccentricities and unexpected interests of a girl. Thus, she gives fuel to female-driven vehicles, emphasizing existential undertones, putting unusual or unpredictable women at the wheel.
Rejecting the presumed path of a Washingtonian (government work) in favor of art, Kayona started in entertainment as a radio DJ, which led to running her own indie record label.
Most recently, Kayona was a winner of the Roadmap Writer’s Diversity Initiative, and the Commission on Arts and Humanities/NEA grant for literature. Kayona was tapped by CBS to pen BEFORE JACKIE, a Super Bowl LV feature starring Viola Davis, and the NCAA Championship game tease starring Jon Hamm.
Kayona is represented by manager Ryan H. Cunningham at Anonymous Content.
