Kelly Eisenbrand is a queer, biracial Chinese comedy and animation writer and native Angelino. She received a certificate in Fiction Novel Writing from Stanford University and MA in English Literature from Claremont University. Kelly loves to write about protagonists who overcome their fears to realize their true selves — usually through connection with found family. She is currently represented by literary manager Grace Ledding at Agile Entertainment (via the Roadmap for Writers AAPI Diversity Initiative). This year, she was a finalist in the Chinese in Entertainment Pitch Contest. The source of Kelly’s best comedy is authenticity, and she seeks to bring nuance and specificity to Asian American representation in the TV landscape. Her hobbies include attending and reviewing every Halloween haunt event within 100 miles, and hoarding books — a habit kept only in check by her two rabbits Bruce Wayne and Blink, who eat books.
Baltimore-born and North Carolina-raised, MICHELLE LESLEY JOHNSON graduated from UNC and Berkeley. In a past life, she served as Cal Berkeley’s assistant director of Football Student Athlete Development. Her former students dance in end zones Any Given Sunday. Hundreds of others impact their communities nationwide.
As a writer, her stories center black males, transitioning from boys to men, and the women who shape, support and challenge them on their journeys. Rebels. With causes.
Her original pilot, "The Fifth Quarter," advanced to the 2nd Round of the 2020 Sundance Episodic Lab. On the strength of "The Fifth Quarter," along with another original pilot, "Hip Hop High," Michelle was a 2021 Disney General Entertainment Content Writing Program Semi-finalist.
Michelle's writing credits include “Let’s Stay Together” (BET), “Meet The Browns” (TBS) and “House of Payne” (TBS). A Guy Hanks & Marvin Miller Screenwriting Fellow, recently she switched focus from comedy to drama and pens what she calls the tears of clowns.
By day, Michelle is a script coordinator, including on season four of the Emmy-winning streaming drama, “The Handmaid’s Tale," and the first season of Starz’ "BMF," that premiered in September 2021.
Jennifer Kim is a writer, journalist, personal essayist, TV and screenwriter, and former high school teacher. A six-time fellowship finalist and an ISA genre selection in comedy, she wrote the award-winning KOREAN AMERICAN WITCHES SOCIETY and hails from the Appalachian region of Ohio.
