Good procedural writers, comedies of all stripes, and action across all budget ranges, please. Optimistic Sci-Fi and Elevated Horror (comedy-laced, weird, and not slasher-based) are cool, too.

That said, I'll read anything by anyone (LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC encouraged!) with a singular voice, especially folks with some established credits. Excellent IP that wants developing is also *chef's kiss*. I'd love my roster to reflect my typical wider social group, which mostly consists of queer punks, metalhead stoners, professional freaks, and lapsed lawyers.

Beyond that, I gravitate towards weird and funny, but also love straight drama and wild action. Horror also interests me, but elevated in a way, or funny. I generally love hangout films, genre-bending, coming-of-age, stripped-down narratives, revenge films, insane stuff, and speculative future projects.

More about Jacob Hayman

An aspiring producer, recovering casting professional, and current Lit Manager with Citizen Skull, Jacob Hayman is the host of the ‘First and Third Wednesdays’ networking event at The Red Lion Tavern, and was a former participant in the 2020 CSA BIPOC Mentorship Program and 2021 HRTS Mentorship Program, under Artios Award-winner Stephanie Holbrook and Additive Management’s Adden Laughlin, respectively. Prior to then, he served as a feature Casting Assistant to Jan Glaser (The Munsters), commercial Casting Coordinator for Clio-winner Terry Berland (‘Invader Zim’), unscripted Casting Associate Producer to Artios Award-nominee Katy Wallin (‘Wipeout’), and Executive Assistant to Michael Greenwald at Endorse Management Group, after spending a fair amount of time as a bartender, projectionist, and server while freelancing on set, and interning at Eclectic Pictures and Partos Co.

Features for which he served as Casting Director have won ‘Best Drama’ and ‘New Visions’ at Cinequest (Trust), as well as Best Actress at the DTLA Film Festival (This Is Your Song), while Wine Club was nominated for Best Comedy and 2x Best Actor at Kevin Smith’s Smodcastle Film Festival. He was also the Production Coordinator on Katie’s Mom, which won Best Comedy at Dances With Films, while his short film producing debut, Fudgie Freddie, screened at Beyond Fest and was nominated for Best Midnight Short and Best Actor at FilmQuest. In his spare time he reads scripts and does research assignments for Oscar-winner Fred Roos (Godfather Part II) and prioritizes tiki bars, fire pits, and movie nights with dear friends.

How it Works

Private Month Mentorship

Each month mentorship kicks off with a preliminary 15-min. call to set expectations and lay out strategy for the month. Writer will have email access to the executive plus 4x one-hour consultations with the exec. Exec will read up to 4 scripts in one month (different drafts of the same script or 4 different scripts) and conduct 4x one-hour story notes calls. Calls can also include feedback on your pitch, branding, or career strategy.

If you pay with the deposit/payment plan, your second half will be due the 2nd week of the Mentorship. If you need a different type of payment plan, email dorian@roadmapwriters.com.

**Please note feature screenplays are limited to 120 pages maximum. Please contact terra@roadmapwriters.com for pricing on a Month Mentorship on screenplays exceeding 120 pages.

What To Expect

After registering, you will receive an automatic Order Confirmation email. Then Roadmap's Director of Consultations, Terra Joy, will get your mentor looped in with you! If you do not hear from Terra or the exec within 3 days of registering, feel free to email terra@roadmapwriters.com for an update.
