I have walked out of pitches thinking I nailed it and then never heard a peep again from the company. I have trudged out of pitches and driven straight to Baskin Robbins for an ice cream sulk -- and then got a call back because they loved it.
I even went into a pitch and talked for an hour about one particular series and then made a random joke on the way out the door that ended up to be the series that I wrote and produced for Hulu. Point is -- every pitch is different. All you can do is be as prepared as you can with compelling characters in a fun and interesting world.
I have no preference between TV series or feature. I love storytelling. I love characters. Plain and simple.
I am a sucker for a good John Hughesian YA comedy or romcom.
But I also love anything for the entire family. Be it action, comedy or adventure.
That doesn't mean I only like family friendly -- cause I am so down for a great R-rated road trip or buddy-movie.
