Get an exec's perspective on the opening pages of your script.
- The executive of your choice will spend 10 minutes reading the opening pages of your script.
- The exec will provide a feedback report on that read which you will receive within 7 to 10 business days of the scheduled session.
Know what your story is about. That means knowing what your plot is, yes, but you should also be able to speak to the deeper meaning and journeys for your characters. What is your story about on an emotional level? What are you trying to say on a thematic and/or philosophical level? Being able to hone in on these ideas, and just as importantly, being able to speak to them in a clear, concise way shows that you have a full understanding of your story.
My true love is character-based genre movies and shows, but my taste is quite wide-ranging. I enjoy stories across nearly all genres and subjects - there's interesting characters and engaging stories to be found everywhere!
The only thing I would not feel comfortable offering advice / teaching is a straight-ahead comedy. I love watching and working on stories that have humor in them, but straight ahead comedies (sitcoms, Judd Apatow movies, things like that) aren't my area of expertise.
