I love a writer who has a command over their story and knows the information confidently and delivers it as such. I always love a good character exploration and having at least part of the story be grounded in reality or a relatable human. A conversational style delivery is very much appreciated, since I write in that style, but it's not absolutely necessary. My favorite thing about a good pitch is when the writer brings me into it and pulls my interest in early. A punchy opener/opening scene is always a good hook for me, too.
Cerebral dramas with cultural relevance like THEM and JUDAS AND THE BLACK MESSIAH. Character driven shows with action like HUNTERS, OZARK, and STATION 11. Comedies that show the quirkiest/most irreverent sides of humanity like HACKS and IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA.
Nothing involving the 45th president. I like sci-fi, but hard sci-fi is a bit too dense, most of the time, and I lose interest quickly. I love YA, but not when it feels immature.
