I'm interested in a wide range. For me, it's about character first -- anything compelling starts with great characters that feel real, dimensional, flawed, and evolve over the course of a story. Second, it's uniqueness and originality -- whether that be the hook/premise, the tone, the voice, the characters: Does it feel personal and idiosyncratic? What subverts the material to make it stand out from the clutter? Third, is it commercial and fun? Who is the target audience? I'm focused on film and television projects that strike the right balance of art and entertainment -- it's critical they are commercial enough to attract buyers and drive viewership in this difficult landscape.
