Monica has worked as a writer, in development and production for popular animated series such as: BLUES CLUES, BUBBLE GUPPIES, KAMP KORALl, SPONGEBOB, STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS, TEAM UMIZOOMI, WALLYKAZAM, and on popular animated films such as: NIMONA, FERDINAND, SPIES IN DISGUISE, ICE AGE V, and THE PEANUTS MOVIE as well as live action series such as WHY WOMEN KILL, STAR TREK: DISCOVERY, STAR TREK: PICARD, SURVIVOR, LOVE ISLAND, THE BIG BANG THEORY and many more.
Her films and projects have received accolades in hundreds of festivals around the world, as well as academy awards, annie awards, and more. In 2023, For her contributions to the industry and activism for women’s equality, Monica was a finalist for a Women of Inspiration Award, nominated by the Universal Women's Network™.
She has been a mentor for students and young professionals globally for over a decade, often partnering with Women in Animation and Roadmap Writers to empower and provide guidance to anyone who dares to dream big.
Monica current runs her own development and creative studio, Monica Violet Joy Productions - providing an exceptional high level of original work and for clients from Apple to Zynga (specializing in film, tv, digital, publishing, marketing, and the arts).
In the literary space, Monica has authored, published and illustrated half a dozen books.
In the academia world, Monica has lectured for a variety of higher education institutions such as: New York University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Florida, Montclair State University, the University of East Anglia and the School of Visual Arts.
Private Month Mentorship
Each month mentorship kicks off with a preliminary 15-min. call to set expectations and lay out strategy for the month. Writer will have email access to the executive plus 4x one-hour consultations with the exec. Exec will read up to 4 scripts in one month (different drafts of the same script or 4 different scripts) and conduct 4x one-hour story notes calls. Calls can also include feedback on your pitch, branding, or career strategy.
If you pay with the deposit/payment plan, your second half will be due the 2nd week of the Mentorship. If you need a different type of payment plan, email dorian@roadmapwriters.com.

What To Expect
After registering, you will receive an automatic Order Confirmation email. Then Roadmap's Director of Consultations, Terra Joy, will get your mentor looped in with you! If you do not hear from Terra or the exec within 3 days of registering, feel free to email terra@roadmapwriters.com for an update.
