What to Expect

Get an exec's perspective on the opening pages of your script.

The executive of your choice will spend 10 minutes reading the opening pages of your script.
The exec will provide a feedback report on that read which you will receive within 7 to 10 business days of the scheduled session.

Pitch Tips

I like a pitch that really understands and can communicate the characters at the heart of it. The plot is nothing without compelling characters. I want to know why this story needs to be told now. I want to know the writer understands where the story is going as opposed to focusing solely on the pilot premise and world-building.

Ask any lingering questions you may have about Roadmap Writers, the Career Writer Program, how to make sure you're getting the most bang for your buck, and then spend a luxurious session writing with your fellow writers, perhaps with prompts, perhaps with music, perhaps just with the company of other writers. Hop on and get those pages done!

The first 30 minutes will be Q&A before diving into the full writing hour, so if you want to skip the first part, plan to join the zoom at 5:30pm PT.

More about Morgyn Utzman

Morgyn Utzman (she/her) is an LA-based writer from the Houston suburbs. Her work explores the darker side of the feminine experience and existential angst, spanning across multiple genres and mediums. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, she went on to network shows like THE SON (AMC) and QUEEN SUGAR (OWN) in multiple capacities. Morgyn served as the development coordinator to director/writer/showrunner Kat Candler for many years and often collaborates in the development and writing of Kat's projects. She has had original plays produced in Los Angeles with a theatre company, one of which premiered at Hollywood Fringe Fest 2022. Most recently, Morgyn was a staff writer on an upcoming show for Starz. Currently, Morgyn is packaging a feature she wrote with Kat and producer Rebecca Green, as well as managing several other projects in development.

How it Works

Immediately after registering, you will receive an Order Confirmation email that serves as the receipt for your registration.
In the Order Summary section of this email you will find a link reading "CLICK HERE FOR INSTRUCTIONS" that will take you to instructions on how to submit your script via the Material Submission Form.
Your material submission is due as soon as you are ready, but no later than 9:00am PT on the day of the session.
During the session, the exec will read as many of your opening pages as they can get through in 10 minutes.
You will receive this exec's written feedback on your pages via email within 10 business days following the session unless otherwise notified.
