I'm particularly interested in working with writers who are writing for adult female audiences, specifically 25+ as well as genre stories centered around POCs. Whether the genre is suspense/thriller or romance, I have a strong background in helping guide female driven stories as well as genre (sci-fi, fantasy, horror) with characters from underrepresented backgrounds. I like to work with writers who are women and POCs interested in stories that are high-concept, commercial, yet socially relevant and topical. A combination of timeless and timely stories.
Nirokhi Raychaudhuri is a film executive with over 14 years of experience developing and producing films across a dynamic range of genres and budgets in both the theatrical and streaming worlds. She leans in on opportunities to identify bold, high-concept ideas and champion distinctive writer and director voices. Having collaborated with many indie-turned-studio filmmakers, Nirokhi gravitates to stories that intersect intimately drawn characters with propulsive, larger-than-life circumstances.
She has a rich background in book-to-film adaptations and female-driven narratives with development expertise in the action, thriller, sci-fi, and romance genres. She has overseen projects from raw IP, pitch, and/or script phases to packaging with writer, director, and actor talent. She loves to get deep in the trenches of creative development and has in-depth experience guiding projects from prep through post-production. As an executive, she has worked with filmmakers and talent such as Spike Lee, Jon M. Chu, Doug Liman, Sam Raimi, David Heyman, Tom Holland, Woody Harrelson, Mark Ruffalo, Angela Bassett, Connie Britton, Issa Rae, and Mila Kunis.
Nirokhi attended USC’s School of Cinematic Arts where she received a BA in Critical Studies. After completing a summer internship for Wes Craven devouring hundreds of horror scripts, she was hooked. She began her career at
CAA as an assistant in the Motion Picture Literary department. She then worked for Lionsgate President of Production Erik Feig and went on to be promoted to Vice President of Development and Production, working on spectacle films between $80M-$120M like NOW YOU SEE ME 2, THE LAST WITCH HUNTER, and CHAOS WALKING.
Most recently, Nirokhi served as a Senior Manager in Netflix’s Original Independent Film group leading a slate of films across budgets between $15M-$60M reporting to Netflix Film Chairman Scott Stuber. She most recently oversaw all aspects of development, production, and post for LUCKIEST GIRL ALIVE with Mila Kunis starring and Mike Barker directing (THE SANDMAN, THE HANDMAID'S TALE). It went on to become one of the most watched films on the platform in 2022. Nirokhi first championed the project at Lionsgate as a newly minted creative executive in 2015 where she developed the novel from the ground up with author turned screenwriter Jessica Knoll and producer Bruna Papandrea (Made Up Stories). The filmmakers and Nirokhi’s former Lionsgate boss Erik Feig (PictureStart) brought the project to her at Netflix where she continued to spearhead development, eventually attaching Mila Kunis to star and produce.
Nirokhi also developed, packaged, and oversaw production for the original romance Look Both Ways starring Lili Reinhart, Andrea Savage, and Luke Wilson. She picked the project up as an original pitch from April Prosser and Screen Arcade. After seeing Wanuri Kahiu’s film RAFIKI at TIFF, Nirokhi identified her as an ideal director candidate to bring the story to life. Previous to that, she oversaw supernatural thriller NIGHT TEETH, directed by Adam Randall (iBoy, I See You) and produced by 42, starring Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Debby Ryan, Lucy Fry, Megan Fox, Sydney Sweeney, and Alfie Allen. She supervised and supported development, production, and/or post-production for the KISSING BOOTH 2 & 3, KATE, OTHERHOOD, and SEE YOU YESTERDAY which went on to win multiple Indie Spirit Awards. During her time at Netflix, Nirokhi particularly enjoyed her role mentoring junior executives and assistants and continues to serve as a member of The Salon Mentorship Program focused on one-to-one mentorship of
the next generation of South Asian executives in the industry.
