Particularly Interested In

Returning half-hour or hour-long TV that highlights the writer's distinct voice or lived experience. Fresh precincts (i.e. no police or legal shows) in the thriller space, series or feature. But I am relatively open to reading within my genre preferences, to be honest!

More about Phoebe Flynn

Phoebe has had a global life which has better allowed her career to adapt and change to differing international landscapes. Originally from Australia, she moved around a lot throughout her schooling – from Dubai to Prague – before settling back in Australia and graduating with a Communications degree at University of Technology Sydney. She started her career in community outreach for documentary before transitioning into advertising for the Sydney-based production studio Cobox. Phoebe’s passion has always been scripted drama, which led her to take on short films and a web series on the side to build her credits, as well as completing the Production Management (Scripted) Industry Certificate at AFTRS. She left Cobox as an Associate Producer at the end of 2019 to pursue scripted drama in the UK.

In 2020, Phoebe was selected for the ScreenSkills Production Lab, which searched for candidates with a wealth of non-scripted production experience and a strong commitment to move into HETV. In 2021, she began working for Pulse Films as an in-house Production Assistant, primarily on Sky’s GANGS OF LONDON S2, and script read for multiple companies alongside this. From here, she moved to the UK Scripted Originals development team at Paramount+ UK before landing her role as Assistant Script Editor on ITV’s UNTIL I KILL YOU for World Productions. She continued to assist with the development slate at the company and also assistant script edited ITV’s KAREN PIRIE S2 before stepping up to script edit S3 of VIGIL for the BBC.

Outside of production, she is a script editor for World and works collaboratively on the development team’s slate. With such a varied career across continents and disciplines, Phoebe is passionate about projects that have international appeal, as well as character-led shows that embrace nuance and complexity, yet remain relatable.
